Don’t be afraid of this guy at the left, it’s not a serial killer or so. Some people will recognize him or know his name. I didn’t know his name until now (I am ashamed). To quote Wikipedia:
«Jordan Rudess (born November 4, 1956) is a Juilliard-trained keyboardist most famously known as a member of the progressive metal band Dream Theater.» I have listened the the album called Rhythm of Time and this is really a great diversity of music styles combined in multiple tracks. I really can’t describe exactly what it sounds like. Then you hear classical piano, the other moment you hear complicated drums and that can turn into xylophones. The first moment you are listening to jazz and a few moments later you hear metal. There are also a lot of intriguing guitar moments to hear. It partly reminds me of Frank Zappa who also mixed a lot of instruments and songs; the difference is there are no political (offensive) lyrics. You have to love the synths and the crazy/chaotic style, but it’s really nice to hear this stuff. |
