It’s getting (even more) bored at my site (not spending enough time to write some logs). I just don’t give my site high-priority at the moment. It’ll be like a curve, with ups and downs. Most people know those < 5 mW laserpointers, used at school, meetings and presentations. I came along a site where they sell not only 5 mW laserpointers, but also 15 mW. You’d now think: so what? Ok, let’s continue. What about the Advanced series? There you can find already a lot more interesting lasers, like a 75 mW version (green) laser. Ok, perhaps you still aren’t impressed. I am already impressed by the prize you pay for a 75 mW version, namely 200+ euros. Not really very expensive. 75 mW is already a fairly high-amount of energy and you really don’t want to point that into someone’s eye, he or she will be really directly blinded. At 75 mW the laserpointer should be able to shine 30 miles away (45 km.).
It doesn’t stop there, what about the Exterminate series – the name implies something already. This laserpointer is ~300 mW with 450 mW peak performance and costs about 1600 euros. What you get is really very cool. 120 miles (180 km) range for your laserpointer. |
All very nice stuff, be it that for the more powerful lasers you have to check your local laws and they really become dangerous. It certainly isn’t toys for the children. Here you can find a short review of the 80 mW-version. Last week I got some nice army boots from my sister, for free. They are brown and look very new. I’ll post some pics of them, or you’ll see me wearing them.
Almost forgot one thing, what about this Mecha? Look at some videoclips here. It’s all about some sort of transformer-like-robot, but then a really big one. The media available doesn’t really directly impress me that much. Why would you want to put flamethrowers on that thing? anyway, the way they built it is respectful. The special thing about this robot is that it’s a exoskeleton, which means that you can sit inside it and control the robot.
